HACRETE Colourmix used on £100 million redevelopment of Blackpool sea front

Roy Hatfield Ltd was asked to create a bespoke Colourmix colour to integrally colour the concrete at Blackpool's major tourist attraction.

Originally matched from a sample of sand from the Fylde Coast, "Fylde Buff" was formulated to blend in with the beach front creating the illusion of a seamless transition from beach to promenade.The concrete units were acid etched on site to add to their natural appearance and sprayed in an anti-graffiti coating.

After the success of Colourmix used on the immediate sea front, Blackpool Borough Council approach Roy Hatfield Ltd to create a dark grey colour for the Tram System that blended in with the Tarmacadam on the road.

Over 25,000 cubic metres of concrete conditioned with COLOURMIX has been poured at Blackpool to date. The colour blends in perfectly with the local environment and has remained stable and consistent even in this testing environment.
