HATCRETE® Diamond Coat Epoxy Primer is based on a blend of epoxy resin and curing agent binders giving the low viscosity characteristics necessary to wet the substrate, giving good penetration properties.

It is low odour, solvent free and has increased curing performance even at low temperatures. New concrete should be allowed to cure for 28 days or more before application of Diamond Coat Primer. However, HATCRETE® DPM Primer can be used on concrete that is "greener" than this. HATCRETE® DPM Primer is a solvent free, two-component epoxy resin Primer and surface damp proof membrane. It is a flexibilised epoxy, containing wetting agents, penetrants, flow agents and de-foamers to maximise penetration and adhesion and to minimise pinholes.

It is used to form a surface Damp Proof Membrane. A 5kg unit will cover approximately 25m2 per unit per coat. Two coats can be applied for heavily trafficked areas. Very porous surfaces may require more. Before application of any Epoxy primer, the substrate should be clean, free from laitance, oil, grease or other agents that may impair adhesion.

Techniques for preparation may include light scabbling to remove loose or deteriorated concrete.. All residues must be removed to provide a dust free, open textured surface. Existing concrete floors should be sound but preparation methods may involve the patching of floor areas with Hatcrete Patch Repair System. Please see technical data sheet below for further details.
