27/1/2012 Congratulations to British Gypsum on achieveing it's waste resuction target

British Gypsum, now owned by Saint Gobain recently achieved their target of having zero production waste going to refill.

This is a great achievement that British Gypsum achieved in April 2010 but this week they have handed the old landfill site back to a local farmer for grazing land. 

They are the first plaster and plasterboard manufacturer in the UK to achieve this. and the programme reduced the amount of production waste going to landfill from an average of 5,000 tonnes per month in 2004 to zero in just six years.

To achieve this commitment to plasterboard recycling scheme they introduced site collections making it much easier to recycle the product.
