In early 2003 we began recycling waste gypsum residues (see Gypsum Waste). As part of our ongoing gypsum recycling program, we began to develop a specialised plant, specifically to recycle plasterboard. The resulting research and development programme has now given us a state of the art recycling plant to provide a 100% recovery route for waste plasterboard. Our plant is capable of processing circa one thousand tonnes of waste plasterboard per week. We are able to handle various forms of plasterboard. Waste board from demolition isn’t a problem provided reasonable steps are taken to limit contamination. We can also handle specialist AV boards such as vinyl, fibre enriched and foil backed board providing prior notice is given. All plasterboard taken in is recycled into alternative raw material gypsum to BSI PAS109 specification for various industrial end users. We are able to provide all necessary information to our customers to ensure their duty of care requirements are met and their conscience is clear. We do not carry out, nor do we advocate 'pseudo' recycling routes for plasterboard material which often infringe environmental legislation including landspreading plasterboard after minimal processing. Our charge for the recycling of waste plasterboard shows substantial savings over landfill and other routes. Customers bring plasterboard to us for recycling from Scotland to Sussex and most places in between! We can accept deliveries using most means of transport to suit the customer from mini skips to large skips, ejector trailers and bulk tippers.
